Ian Patton is taking over the leadership role at diesel engine manufacturer, Sabre.
He takes over from Paul and Andrew Freeman, who have jointly managed the business since it was acquired from the Freeman family by Caterpillar in 2000.
Ian joins Sabre from FG Wilson, a Caterpillar company based in Northern Ireland and one of the world’s leading manufacturers of generator sets and power solutions.
According to the company, he brings considerable experience to his new role, particularly in relation to lean manufacturing and generator set product development. Initially, he will work alongside Paul and Andrew to ensure a smooth transition.
The business manufactures the Perkins Sabre ranges of leisure and commercial marine propulsion engines and generator set engines that are sold worldwide.
