Scottish Macduff Shipyards has completed wooden trawler New Dawn FR470 for Alistair Bruce and partners of Fraserburgh. Macduff said she is a very sturdy, versatile craft, and is laid out for a single and twin-rig trawling, to operate through Caley Fisheries in Fraserburgh.

The layout is typical Macduff, with the deckhouse area fitted rail to rail athwartships, dividing the fish handling area from the net handling area.

Layout from forward is forepeak with chain locker and FW tank, fishroom, engine room, cabin and steering gear compartment.

On main deck from forward, fish handling area with trawl at fore end, deckhouse, and net handling area.

The front end of the main engine is arranged with an extension shaft to drive steering gear pump, bilge pump, fish room cooling compressor. Transmotor alternators and Stromag clutch for standby pump.

An auxiliary engine is fitted for driving hydraulics and bilge pump and Transmotor alternator.
