Neptunus ehf. the developer of pre-mounted gill nets, says it has finally solved the mystery behind clearing the ropes off of its nets after use, without harming the ropes.

The pre-mounted nets have been in use for almost nine years now, by thousands of users in Norway, Iceland, The Faroe Islands and Sweden.

The company has also developed mounting machines for the pre-mounted nets. The mounting machines EC-1000 and EC-1200 have now been equipped with a new cutting machine which Neptunus says makes things much easier for the user.

Today people cut off the nets from the ropes by hand. Now times have finally changed for the better for gill net users: "This has been in development for almost nine years now, and finally we solved it," says Björn Halldórsson, the maker of the new mounting method.

"Now you can measure the length of the ropes, mount the nets and cut the nets off the ropes with only one machine," Mr Halldórsson says. "This is truly a revolution for gill net users. Every step has now been made much easier and much faster."
