Over the past few years FISA introduced to the Peruvian market Twisted Knotless Shogun Netting. This netting occupies less space by netting between meshes compared to Raschel and knotted netting, thus allowing more water to flow through the meshes giving an easier and faster casting of the net, while maintaining a stronger breaking strength. In addition, this netting occupies less space on the boat, has stronger UV resistance (in the case of polyester) and lowers the fuel consumption of the vessel.
All netting is heat set and therefore is guaranteed minimum shrinkage.
FISA has around 45% market share for netting used by the Peruvian Anchoveta fishing fleet. The company has held a market share between 40% and 50% for the past 15 years and supplies customers with bails of netting and also with fully built nets. After that the company supplies technical support for the netting including engineers that board the fishing vessel and check the efficiency of the nets.
FISA also exports knotted netting to the pacific purse seine tuna fishing vessels. In addition, the company is a large supplier to Omega Protein, the largest fishmeal producer in the United States.
In the aquaculture market the company currently supplies netting to around 20% of the Chile salmon aquaculture market. FISA also supplies fully built aquaculture cages to Colombia and Central America (Tilapia), Canary Islands and Israel for the farming of sea bass and sea bream and also supplies bulk netting to the Greek and Turkish aquaculture markets for building cages.
All our netting (for fishing and aquaculture) can be tarred with exact % of tar as requested by the customer (it is machine tarred).
Finally, FISA has a brand new PP woven bag manufacturing plant that was inaugurated in April 2007 and is fully implemented with Starlinger (Austria) machinery. The plant was designed with strict quality control with the idea of satisfying the strictest demands of the Peruvian and Chilean fishmeal industry.
