Naust Marine recently finished the start-up and fishing trial onboard the freezer trawler Echizen Maru which is registered in Ushuaia, Argentina.

The project was quite big and consisted of the following 20 winches with motors and all controls:

  • 2 towing winches with 320kW electrical motors and ATW automatic winch controls
  • 4 Sweep-line winches
  • 4 Bobbing winches
  • 2 net drums
  • 2 Cod-end winches
  • 2 Outhauling winches
  • 2 Gilson winches
  • 2 auxiliary small winches
  • AutoGen power management system for 3 generators
  • Distribution Switch board for the winches
  • Alarm system for Diesel gen-sets

The vessel is owned by the company Pesantar in Argentina and operated out of Ushuaia for catching mainly hoki, “Silver” fish and other fish species with bottom trawl and mid-water trawl.

After the modification only four crew members are needed on deck to handle the fishing gear which is now easier and safer for the crew.
