NOAA, in cooperation with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), has organised the NOAA-USDA National Stakeholder Meeting on Alternative Feeds for Aquaculture to be held on 30 April 30 at NOAA Headquarters.
The goal of the NOAA-USDA Alternative Feeds Initiative is to assess issues and identify opportunities to explore alternative ingredients that warrant support through research and development, testing, and commercialisation. The purpose of the national stakeholder meeting is to provide a forum for open communication among stakeholders including scientists, representatives from government and non-governmental organisations, academia, private industry, and others. The meeting will feature invited presentations and interactive discussion focused on current and best-available knowledge of alternative feed ingredients for aquaculture to inform US research priority setting.
Topics to be addressed at the meeting include the following scientific and practical considerations of alternatives to fish meal and oil in aquaculture diets:

• Future Directions for Feeds Manufacturing
