This year, Norwegian deck machinery producer Karmøy Winch delivered the complete deck machinery package to the new Shetland pelagic trawler Serene.

Karmøy Winch delivered the deck machinery package to Serene this year

This package consisted of:

  • Two new type 18 inch fish pumps that can pump big fish without damage
  • Two trawl winches that each have pull capacity of 91t and drum capacity for 2,200m of ø40mm diameter trawl wire
  • Two net drums each with drum capacity 43m3 and pull capacity of 111t
  • One topline winch with pull capacity of 71t
  • Karm datatrawl system 3010
  • Deck cranes
  • Hydraulic system
  • Trawl blocks

Next year the company will deliver the deck machinery to the new pelagic vessel for Voyager Fishing Ltd in Northern Ireland.
This year Karmøy Winch also began using its new 3000m2 factory building, where the mounting of winches and cranes take place.
