Submissions are now invited for the 4th edition of Fish Waste for Profit, taking place alongside the Icelandic Fisheries Exhibition, from 24-25 September 2020 in Kópavogur, Iceland.

Over the past six years, the conference has covered recent developments in this fast-moving industry; keeping delegates up to date with technological innovation, research and development, investment, and has hosted speakers representing some of the industry’s most promising products made from discarded by-products.

In addition to one and a half days of presentations, networking coffee and lunch breaks, delegates will have the opportunity to join the 13000 fishing professionals in attendance at the Icelandic Fisheries Exhibition which will run from 23-25 September 2020.

The selection of presentation topics for the 2020 Conference is now available. Companies, organisations and individuals are invited to put forward papers in the following categories:

  • Fish skin – fish leather, chitin, collagen, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics
  • Fish meal & fish oil
  • Innovations in processing tech
  • Biotechnical solutions – enzymes & medicines
  • Kick starting the industry – investment & support
  • Keeping the circular economy green from top to bottom (use of renewable energy and green tech in by-product processing)

Abstracts using case and 'real life' studies are the most engaging for our audience and therefore will be given precedence.

Abstracts of approx. 250 words should be sent, with a biography of the speaker, headshot photo and logo, to jgwynn@mercatormedia.com by 28th February 2020 at the latest.
