The latest member of US-based Integrated Marine Systems (IMS) family of refrigeration products is a self-contained refrigerated sea water (RSW) system that is designed for easy installation on board fishing boats with space limitations.
The new unit is hydraulic-drive and is available with either a titanium or copper nickel chiller.
Circulation and condenser pumps and electronic controls are part of the package and it is charged with Freon 507 — ready to install.
It fits within a small footprint, allowing installations for fishermen who own Rawson, Wegley, Shore Boat, Marco and similar vessels. The unit can handle loads of up to 10,000lb of insulated capacity.
Shipments for the first orders of the new unit began in May this year.
“We are one of the original innovators in the self-contained RSW market providing American-made equipment to Alaska’s fisheries.” Greg Sangster of IMS said. “While others have tried to break into this market, most have fallen by the wayside due to their inability to provide adequate support to the fishing fleets once the equipment has been installed…in the fishing industry, it’s not how much you pay for a product up front; it’s how a product is supported after the installation that gives it value.”
IMS is highly regarded for providing the commercial fishing industry with innovative products that share the characteristics of simplicity, ease of operation and dependability based on superior engineering and longer-lasting components.
First known for its HydroChillersand self-contained Plug & Play RSW systems, IMS was established in 1989.
The IMS FastFreezeportable production tunnel freezer, now a proven performer with Alaska and US west coast processors, was the last new offering from Integrated Marine.
At the 2009 Pacific Marine Expo in Seattle, the IMS FastChillprototype slurry ice machine was unveiled, joining the IMS family of products for the commercial fishing and seafood processing industry.
