In December, IFFO (International Fishmeal and Fish Oil Organisation) organised a visit to both Chile and Peru with the intention of discussing with members the new IFFO Global Standards for Responsible Supply (RS) which it launched at the Vienna Conference in October.
Meetings were held in Santiago and Concepcion in Chile, as well as Lima in Peru.
The organisation says that considerable interest was shown in the scheme and some interesting discussions held. In addition to the discussions on RS, IFFO was also keen for its members to meet Enrico Bachis the new Business & Information Manager who is based in St Albans.
It also proved to be an excellent opportunity for Mr Bachis to learn more about the business and what IFFO members wanted in the way of statistical information from IFFO.
