In spite of a reduction in quotas, the catch landed by HB Grandi’s eight trawlers came to approximately 51,500 tonnes with a value of around ISK 11.3 billion (€73.5 million/$97.9 million) in 2010.

This is up from 47,000 tonnes valued at ISK 9.3 billion (€60.5 million/$80.5 million) in 2009.
HB Grandi operates five factory freezer vessels and their catches increased to 33,800 tonnes from 31,900 tonnes in 2009.
The freezer fleet also saw its catch values rise by 16% to ISK 8.6 billion (€55.9 million/$74.5 million) from ISK 7.5 billion (€48.8 million/$65 million) the previous year.
Therney RE was the top-catching vessel with 7,600 tonnes, while Venus HF had the highest catch value at ISK 1.9 billion (€12.4 million/$16.5 million).
In 2009, Therney was also the top catcher with 6,761 tonnes, while Örfirisey RE returned the highest values for its landings at roughly ISK 1.5 billion (€9.8 million/$13 million).
HB Grandi’s pelagic vessel catch for 2010 totalled 96,400 tonnes, with a value of ISK 3.4 billion. This means that compared to 2009, landings were down 8%, but the value increased by 28.3%.
