Hayri Deniz is an Aquaculture Expert. He graduated from the Fisheries Faculty of Mediterranean University in 1887. He obtained his M.Sc. and Ph.D. on sea bass and sea bream production from Dokuz Eylul U., Institute of Marine Science and Technology.

He started his professional aquaculture carrier in the Turkish Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock working on fisheries and aquaculture as researcher in 1988. He has worked at Project for Development of Turkish Aquaculture both in Italy and Turkey on marine finfish hatchery techniques under Turkish-Italian Bilateral Cooperation in 1989-1990.

He worked for DG for Fisheries and Aquaculture, Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock as Researcher, Aquaculture Expert, Mariculture Director in 1988-2013 and participated in several projects as Counterpart such as FAO Fish Farming Project in Beymelek Lagoon in Turkey, WB Project of Management and Development Strategies for Lagoons along the Turkish Coastline and their Rehabilitation, JICA Turbot Aquaculture Project in Black Sea in 1988-2013.

He had token charge in several international and national projects as National Coordinator such as FAO TCP for Developing a Roadmap for Turkish Marine Aquaculture Site Selection and Zoning Using an Ecosystem Approach to Management, FAO TCP for Recovery of Sturgeon Population in Turkey: Habitat Assessment and Restocking, National Project on Determination of Environmental Impacts of Fish Farm to the Marine Ecosystem, FAO Regional TCP for Sustainable Development of the Aquaculture Sector from Postharvest Perspective with Focus on Quality, Traceability and Safety.

He gets involved in the same EU Project such as Multi-sensor automated water quality monitoring and control system for continuous use in recirculation aquaculture systems, Strategic Use of Competitiveness towards Consolidating the Economic Sustainably of the European Seafood sector and Climate Change and European Aquatic Resources.

He also had administrative duties in certain international organizations such as GFCM, EUROFISH and MEDCOAST.

He joined the KILIC Seafood Company as Director of Overseas Investment and International Relations between 2013-2014.

He took on the role of Secretary General in National Union for Turkish Aquaculture Producers in 2014-2015.

Now, he has been working for both Mugla Fish Farmer Association as General Secretary, and KILIÇ Seafood Company as an External Consultant.
