Hellenic Aquaculture Producers Organization (HAPO) has made its first international appearance at Seafood Expo Global in Brussels to attract international buyers and fish farming businesses.

HAPO 'Fish from Greece' truck offered fresh produce throughout the exhibition

The organisation's pavilion was visited by the Ambassador of Greece in Brussels, Eleftheria Galathianaki, the Commercial and Economic Affairs Counselor of the Greek Embassy Anastasios Papathomas and the Head of Unit for Blue Economy Sectors, Aquaculture and Maritime Spatial Planning at European Commission Felix Leinemann. Issues of the sector were discussed with HAPO President Dimitris Valachis and the General Secretary of HAPO, Antonis Chachlakis.

Visitors to the Expo, held from 24-26 April, had the opportunity to meet with representatives of HAPO and to enjoy a unique culinary experience with fresh Greek. HAPO's pavilion offered tasting sessions and live cooking shows presented by Greek chef Konstantinos Vassalos and his team. The fish truck ‘Fish from Greece’ at the entrance of the exhibition also offered fresh Greek fish recipes created by the chef.

‘Fish from Greece’ is a collective label indicating Greece as the origin of fresh fish raised in fish farms of members of HAPO. Established in 2016, HAPO represents approximately 80% of the Greek aquaculture industry.
