Great interest has been shown in the 11th Aqua Nor Innovation Award so far, with 19 applications from Germany, Denmark, UK, Chile and Norway.

The applications cover a wide range of projects, including: land-based systems; production management and traceability from farmer to consumer; gas-powered vessels; service/workboats; de-licing methods; a sewing machine that can mend nets underwater by remote control; and new cage systems and different transport systems for live and dead fish.
Former Director of the Foundation, Odd Berg, is responsible for evaluating the applications and presenting the best ones to the jury.
The winner of the Award will be presented with a cheque for NOK100,000, a diploma, and a graphic print by a well-known Norwegian artist. The objective of the Award is to contribute to generate innovation, increased efficiency, safety, improved environment and quality in the fish farming business. It is also important that these innovations contribute to more profitable operations.
The Award presentation will take place during Aqua Nor 2013 from 13-16 August in Trondheim, Norway.
