Finning Power Systems has added the new Perkins Sabre M300C to its range of diesel marine engines to help operators reduce emissions and save up to 10% on fuel costs.

The new electronically-controlled, six-cylinder, 6.6 litre engine is the latest addition to the Perkins 1100 diesel range. Utilising components from Caterpillar’s ACERT technology, it has been designed to provide clean and quiet power, with precisely-controlled fuel and air mixing for improved efficiency.
With power ratings ranging from 190bhp at 2,100rpm to 300bhp at 2,400rpm the new engine complies with the latest emissions regulations including EPA Tier 2, IMO, RCD and CCNR, said Finning.
“The M300C is designed to help lower operating costs by improving engine reliability. Service points are easily accessible for faster, routine maintenance and service intervals have also been extended to 500 hours; with comprehensive two-years’ warranty (up to 3,000 hours) and three years on all major engine components.”
The engine also ensures leak free operation thanks to special crankshaft seals and silicone water hoses and the high-capacity filter helps minimise failure due to fuel contamination.
The compact and durable engine design is also easy to install or retrofit, offering a range of installation angles for conventional shaft or vee-drive installations.
Finning is the sole distributor of Perkins Sabre engine in the UK and Ireland.
