Modi pledges €67m for fisheries sector growth

India’s Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has unveiled a series of groundbreaking schemes aimed at bolstering the fisheries sector, alongside transformative agricultural programmes
These projects include the foundation of seven new fisheries ventures worth ₹572 crores (€55 million) and the inauguration of nine others totalling ₹121 crores (€12 million) across India.
Key initiatives include the ₹170 crore (€16 million) trout fisheries project in Uttarakhand, the ₹119.94 crore (€12 million) smart and integrated fishing harbour in Puducherry, and a ₹100 crore (€10 million) integrated aqua park in Odisha.
