A deal has been struck between Danish electronics company Vest-El and Dutch fishing technology specialist VCU to supply the solution in Denmark.
Vest-El becomes the official Danish dealer for the VCU’s onboard weighing and registration system CatchManagement, which is in widespread use on fishing vessels operating in the North Sea. This collaboration with Vest-El aims to expands VCU’s presence on the Danish market, and to meet the growing demand for robust, user-friendly, and highly accurate onboard weighing systems for fishing vessels.
The VCU installation brings together motion-compensated marine scales, industrial touchscreen terminals, label printers, and powerful data registration software in a robust system that provides a comprehensive weighing and registration system tailored for fishing vessels. It offers multilingual capabilities, full traceability and remote support.
“With growing interest from the Danish fishing fleet, it was vital to work with a company that understands the local industry and has a strong presence in the ports of Thyborøn and Hvide Sande. Several Danish and Norwegian vessels have already been successfully equipped with the VCU CatchManagement system,” VCU stated.
VCU has also implemented a direct (automated) link between the VCU Catch Management system and the Danish E-logbook. A single push of a button enables catch data to be seamlessly transferred to the E-logbook, significantly reducing manual input and simplifying reporting for skippers.
VCU and Vest-El are confident that this partnership will lead to further innovation and efficiency within the Danish fishing sector, and will provide customers with local expertise, fast service, and access to cutting-edge technology.
