The UK event is attended by thousands of visitors from over 35 countries, all with the aim of seeing the industry’s latest products and innovations.
According to the organisers, visiting Fishing 2007 is a time and cost-efficient way to do business. With all the key international commercial fishing suppliers under one roof, visitors will have the opportunity to:
• Source and evaluate new products from local and international suppliers
• Keep up-to-date with new technologies and industry developments at the free of charge seminar sessions
• Network with industry colleagues and associations for three days

Fishing 2006 included over 120 exhibiting companies from around the world. For 2007 exhibitors are already signed up from as far away as New Zealand.

Seafood Bar – new for 2007
A tantalising seafood bar will be erected in the middle of the exhibition hall where visitors can enjoy the fruits of their harvest and enjoy a drink. This is a great opportunity to network with industry colleagues.
Outdoor Exhibition & Display Area – new for 2007
One of the unique attractions the SECC Glasgow is the dockside area which adds a new dimension to the show and can accommodate a variety of craft. Already signed up to exhibit their vessel outside is the Royal Navy’s Fishery Protection Squadron (FPS) who is bringing it vessel HMS “Severn” which will be open to visit.

13.00: Stakeholder event on Compliance, Enforcement and Management Issues
• Scottish Fisheries Protection Agency (SFPA) and Scottish Executive Environment and Rural Affairs Department (SEERAD)
The Sea Fisheries Advisory and Reference Group (SeaFAR) action plan, launched in September, announced that SFPA and SEERAD would host a series of events to give people in the industry the opportunity to discuss compliance, enforcement and management issues with those responsible for the regulation of the industry.
This is the opportunity for delegates to ask SFPA and SEERAD directly about the issues that concern them.

This session examines sustainable sourcing from the processors’ point of view.
