Fjórtánda Íslenska sjávarútvegssýningin verður haldin í Smáranum 18.-20. september 2024 og er þetta sérstök afmælissýning enda eru nú fjörutíu ár síðan IceFish var haldin fyrst. Icefish 2024 er viðburður sem enginn sem tengist sjávarútvegi og aðliggjandi greinum getur láta fram hjá sér fara. Á sýningunni má sjá nýjustu tæki, búnað og þjónustu sem sjávarútveginum býðst, allt frá fiskileit, veiði, vinnslu og pökkun, til markaðssetningar og dreifingar fullunnar vöru. Fiskeldið eflist stöðugt og sömuleiðis það markmið að ná hundrað prósent nýtingu sjávarfangs, og hafa sýningarþættir sem tengjast þeirri miklu framþróun aukist stöðugt. Eftir þau misseri sem kóvíd-faraldurinn takmarkaði sýningarhald var seinasta sýning haldin 2022 og þar sýndu um 400 fyrirtæki frá 22 löndum það nýjasta og besta sem þau höfðu að bjóða, þar á meðal voru sýningarskálar frá Spáni, Danmörku, Noregi og Færeyjum. Þar sýndu einnig í fyrsta skipti fyrirtæki frá Frakklandi, Lettlandi, Spáni, Portúgal, Tyrklandi, Þýskalandi, Litháen, Danmörku, Noregi, Grikklandi, Færeyjum og Bandaríkjunum. Ráðstefnan Fish Waste for Profit (Fiskúrgangur skilar hagnaði) verður haldin í tvo daga af þeim þremur sem sýningin stendur yfir. Íslensku sjávarútvegsverðlaunin verða afhent í níunda skipti á opnunardegi sýningarinnar, þar sem afburðagóð fyrirtæki í greininni fá verðskuldaða viðurkenningu fyrir framleiðslu sína og þjónustu, bæði hérlendis og á alþjóðavettvangi. The 14th Icelandic Fisheries Exhibition will take place 18-20 September 2024 at the Smárinn, Fifan Halls Kópavogur, Iceland. A must-attend event for all commercial fisheries organisations and associated businesses, Icefish hosts the latest developments from the industry showcasing new and innovative products and services, covering every aspect of the commercial fishing and seafood industry from catching and locating to processing and packaging, right through to marketing and distribution of the final product. Aquaculture and the quest for 100% fish utilisation is on the increase and is rapidly becoming an important part of the exhibition. Following a Covid enforced break of 5 years, the last event in 2022, welcomed 398 companies, products and brands over the three days by exhibitors from 22 different countries including national pavilions from Spain, Denmark, Norway, and the Faroe Islands. First-time exhibitors joined from France, Latvia, Spain, Portugal, Poland, Turkey, Germany, Lithuania, Denmark, Norway, Greece, Faroe Islands and USA. Fishwaste for profit conference will again run over 2 days alongside the exhibition. The 9th Icelandic Fisheries Awards will take place on the evening of the opening day of the show celebrating excellence in the Icelandic and global fishing, aquaculture and seafood sectors.
