The Cat C32 ACERT is located at Salar Bruk

The first is a Cat C32 ACERT with a rating of 1100 KVA, located at Salar Bruk close to Bergen, and the second is a Cat 3512 with a rating of 1250 KVA, 400V, located at Fjon Bruk just outside Haugesund.

Both gensets are operating as emergency power within the operation of the fish hatcheries at the two locations. They are both an integral part of the safety measures of daily operations of the hatcheries, including pumps and oxygen supply.

The gensets have been connected to the local power supply, and are being tested and syncronised on a weekly basis in order to provide a stable and constant supply of power.

Pon Power has also delivered the control system, ComAp, which has been adapted to the specific demands of the customers. This also ensures the best possibilities for testing and control of the gensets.

Fish hatcheries are very vulnerable to power cuts. Even small glitches in the power supply can result in major damage to the fish in the tanks.

To ensure the correct use of the gensets and the control system, Pon Power has been in charge of the running-in and initial testing of the system as well as training of the staff of Alsaker Fjordbruk AS. These measures have been taken to ensure that the five million fish in Salar Bruk are being protected from power cuts in the best way.

The response from Alsaker Fjordbruk AS has been very positive, and the company is said to be particularly pleased with the high safety in regards to the operation of the fish hatcheries.
