Baader has discussed plans for its increased involvement in Russia’s fishery business with governmental officials.

Baader confirmed the negotiations as its chief executive officer, Petra Baader, spoke about the new development strategy of Russia’s fishery industry at the Global Fishery Forum & International exhibition.

Ms Baader highlighted those parts of the Russian fishery development program where BAADER is prepared to support Russian fishing and processing companies at last month’s St Petersburg event.

Onboard fish processing

Robert Focke, managing director of Baader, delivered a presentation on the company at roundtable ‘Fishing Fleet of the Future’ and highlighted the modern trends in onboard fish processing development.

He said that that BAADER has worked in Russia for 25 years and is ready to face new challenges in equipping new whitefish and pelagic fishing trawlers.

Training engineers and technicians maintaining fish processing equipment is important, he highlighted, announcing Baader’s plan for joint activities with Russian educational institutions.

The event marked the first time that Baader has presented the newest filleting machine for small whitefish Baader 588 at a Russian trade show.

Live demonstrations of the machine processing Alaska Pollack were watched by delegates including Arkady Dvorkovich, Russia’s deputy prime minister and Ilya Shestakov, the country’s deputy minister of agriculture and fishery agency head.

Organised by the Russian governmental Federal Agency for Fishery, the event, which incorporated a fishery, seafood and know-how trade show saw fish industry professionals from 21 countries attend.
