Skretting has released its 2024 Impact Report, highlighting major strides in innovation and sustainability, while unveiling a new value proposition – ACT – aimed at driving further progress across the aquaculture industry.
The report outlines how Skretting, part of Nutreco, is contributing to feeding a growing global population, targeting nearly 10 billion people by 2050.

“At Skretting we are committed to being the absolute best at innovation, customer intimacy and sustainability,” said chief executive Bastiaan van Tilburg. “Our achievements in 2024 show that we are serious about leading in these areas.”
Key environmental gains include a 34.9% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions and a 10.2% cut in Scope 3 emissions since 2018. The average carbon footprint per tonne of feed was also reduced by 26%.
Increased transparency marks this year’s report. For the first time, Skretting disclosed detailed antibiotic usage and emissions data by region, particularly in its salmon operations. The percentage of feed containing antibiotics fell to 1.4%, down from 1.6% in 2023.
The company also reported that 85% of its marine ingredients were certified in 2024, up from 77% the previous year. Diversity and inclusion saw progress too, with 27% of senior leaders now women, supported by an active D&I Council.
The launch of the ACT proposition – Action, Connection and Transparency – underscores Skretting’s push to partner across the value chain. “If we don’t deliver on this, global food security will be in jeopardy,” van Tilburg warned.
“That’s why we invite our partners to embrace long-term thinking and collaboration to secure innovation and sustainability for the future.”
