Eighteen fish feed mills have achieved ASC Feed Certification in 2025

From January to mid-July, feed mills in 12 countries - spanning Norway, Japan, Ecuador, the UK, Australia, Canada and more, met the rigorous ASC Feed Standard.

“By choosing ASC Feed Certification and meeting the rigorous environmental and social requirements of the ASC Feed Standard, these feed companies are making real change and driving full-chain responsibility,” said Aisla Jones, feed engagement & UK markets manager at ASC.

“We congratulate all recently certified feed mills on their achievements and look forward to seeing the positive impact they have on the industry.”

Responsible sourcing

The new certifications show that companies like Skretting, Cargill, BioMar and others are leading the way toward a more sustainable future for fish feed.

It has also been a period of ‘firsts’ for three countries, with the first ever feed mills – all Skretting sites – achieving ASC Feed Certification in Australia, Japan and Italy.

This latest wave brings the global total to 35 ASC-certified feed mills across 14 countries.

Certified aquaculture farms must transition to ASC conforming feed by 31 October 2025 to maintain their own certifications under the ASC Farm Standard.

This wave of certifications marks a continuing shift in the aquaculture industry.

ASC certified feed producers are more directly addressing the environmental and social impacts embedded in their supply chains – from the responsible sourcing of ingredients like soy and fishmeal, to ensuring fair labour practices.
