Engineering specialist Brimmond has launched the NetJet 350D Mk2, the latest generation of its high-pressure net cleaning system developed specifically for Scotland’s aquaculture industry.
Designed, manufactured and supported from the company’s Aberdeenshire headquarters, the upgraded unit has been engineered to improve reliability, reduce downtime and simplify maintenance for operators working in challenging marine environments.

The launch builds on more than two years of operational data gathered from the original NetJet 350D and follows a development programme undertaken in collaboration with AKVA group.
“The Mk2 is about taking a system our customers already trust and making it even more robust, more efficient and easier to maintain in demanding conditions,” explained Tom Murdoch, managing director at Brimmond.
“What really sets Brimmond apart is that we don’t just build the equipment, we support it for its entire lifecycle. Whether it’s rapid parts delivery, on-site servicing or providing a like-for-like hire unit, we’re focused on keeping our customers operating with minimal downtime.”
One of the most significant upgrades is a complete structural redesign featuring a marine-grade aluminium lifting frame. Replacing the previous steel construction has reduced the overall weight of the unit by approximately one tonne, from 5,500kg to 4,500kg, while also improving resistance to corrosion.
Maintenance efficiency has also been enhanced through the introduction of a new acoustically lined bi-folding canopy door system. The design provides full 360-degree service access while improving sound dampening and protection against water ingress.
Brimmond is also emphasising its integrated support model, with extensive stocks of NetJet components held at its Aberdeenshire base and dispatched to sites across Scotland’s west coast and islands within 48 hours. Dedicated service vans and a like-for-like hire fleet further help minimise operational disruption.
The NetJet 350D Mk2 forms part of Brimmond’s wider aquaculture portfolio, which ranges from 250hp to 750hp systems and includes both diesel and electric-powered options.
