Anglesey Aquaculture delighted with interest at European Seafood Exposition
Anglesey Aquaculture Ltd has said that it was delighted by the reaction to the first appearance of its branded Anglesey Sea Bass at the European Seafood Exposition (ESE), held recently in Brussels, Belgium.
According to the company, the interest shown in Anglesey Sea Bass and its state-of-the-art recirculation fish farm far exceeded even its best expectations. Talks with several interested buyers are ongoing and the company hopes to confirm a number of major contracts in the coming weeks and months.
“Over the course of the three-day expo, we held dozens of meetings with current and potential customers looking to source our unique sea bass,” said Kenny Woods of Anglesey Aquaculture.
“Anglesey Sea Bass are already popular in the UK and European restaurant, catering and retail trades, but we were delighted to learn at ESE that word of our fish has spread much further afield and has aroused interest in markets that we had previously considered more as long-term export targets, such as the Middle East, Russia and Eastern Europe.”
Keen to pursue the potential of these markets, Anglesey Aquaculture has confirmed it will now be showcasing its Anglesey Sea Bass at both the World Seafood Moscow (17-20 September, 2012) and the Dubai International Seafood Expo (8-10 October, 2012) events.
