Thai Union Group is providing food products at reduced prices to local communities as part of a government scheme to support Thai people during the Covid-19 pandemic.

As part of the ‘Blue Flag Scheme’ SEALECT mackerel and tuna chili paste canned products are being distributed to more than 25,000 participating grocery shops. They are the first products to carry the scheme’s logo.
Saran Rattanarungruengchai, general manager – emerging markets at Thai Union, said the company was pleased to be working with the Department of Internal Trade, Ministry of Commerce on this important initiative.
“Being involved with this programme allows Thai Union to offer healthy and nutritious food to Thai people during these incredibly difficult times, as part of our goal to support healthy living within the local community while also working for healthy oceans for the planet,” he said.
“Our healthy, delicious and nutritious SEALECT mackerel in tomato sauce, which contains omega 3, EPA, DHA, vitamin C and D, is available at all ‘blue flag’ grocery shops at a special price. Our canned mackerel was produced without any preservatives and has a shelf life of three years,” he added.
The Thong Fah (Blue Flag) Pracha Rat scheme has a dual objective to help both consumers and local grocery shops by providing products at special prices. SEALECT mackerel in tomato sauce has been reduced by 12.5% and the tuna chilli paste by 26%.
