Skipsteknisk AS has been awarded the design contract for a new Fishery and Oceanographic Research Vessel for the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU).
The contract includes the design and development of the vessel, as well as supervision during building. The design and development of the new vessel has started and will continue throughout 2016.
The vessel’s functional requirements are similar in many areas to the Norwegian research vessel Dr. Fridtjof Nansen, which is under construction in Spain for the Institute of Marine Research in Bergen. This vessel is also of Skipsteknisk-design and the same strict requirements for underwater noise will be applied.
The vessel is expected to be delivered in 2018.
