Marelec Food Technologies will present the Portio 3A and the Portio 1DA at Seafood Processing Global 2016.

These portion cutters cut fresh fish or meat into portions of fixed weight, fixed thickness or a combination. Thanks to their precise cameras, the company says that the products are scanned perfectly and the best possible yield is reached.
These Portios differ from other portion cutters in their cutting angle, which is what the ‘A’ stands for. The angle of the rotating knife can easily be tilted over 30° or 45°, without the use of tools. This results in a cut under angle, with fixed weight and the look of a natural hand cut.
The difference between the two machines is that the 1DA has dual lanes, each with one laser/camera. The 3A is a single lane using and three lasers/cameras. The dual lane doubles the capacity of a regular portion cutter, which results in extra high productivity levels and an even faster ROI.
A Portio with one camera is mainly used for flat products, while one with three cameras is used for rounded products. The number of cameras are customisable to the customer’s preference.
Weighing and grading
At the exhibition, a MC3/4 classic grader will be placed in-line with the Portio 3A. After the products have been portioned to various target weights, they can immediately be sorted according to weight. The MC3 classic grader can be used for the grading of all kind of fish products, including salmon, turbot, bass and oysters. The MC grading systems consist of an infeed belt, a dynamic weigher and a grading belt. Every grading system is equipped with Smart Batching Software, which minimises excess weight by selecting the correct product for each batch and by continuously confirming or adjusting the total weight per batch.
The Marelec M3/6 Compact Grader will also be shown at the exhibition. Compact means that infeed, weighing and outfeed are on one frame and belt. The M3/6 is designed for weighing small or vulnerable products such as fish, poultry and meat.
Marelec’s ultimate weighing and labeling system for use at sea is the Marelec W50/D100. The combination of high-precision components such as the D100 indicator, W50C weighing platform, C50 production management software and the PR1 or PR2 label printer result in a powerful production management system.
