Klart Vann AS is introducing two new products at this year’s Nor-Fishing exhibition – the AFM® (Unique Bio-Resistant Activated Filter Media) and the Dryden Aqua diffuser.

It’s time to change, says Klart Vann

It’s time to change, says Klart Vann

AFM® AFM® replaces sand in all filtration applications. It is manufactured from a specific glass type and processed to obtain optimum particle size and shape and then activated to increase the surface area to more than 300 times that of crushed glass or sand.

The company says that AFM® offers a revolutionary step change by providing more than 30% performance improvement over sand. It contains metal oxide catalysts that dissociate oxygen and water to create a zone of high oxidation potential to prevent bacteria growing on the surface of AFM®.

In addition, the huge activated surface area has a strong negative charge for the adsorption of sub-micron particles and dissolved organic molecules.

Dryden Aqua diffuser
The Dryden diffusers are claimed to be the most robust and versatile fine bubble diffusers commercially available. Klart Vann says that fine bubble diffusion is more effective than coarse bubble diffusion in providing a greater mixing action and aeration efficiency (up to five times more efficient). The company says that it is not aware of any other fine bubble diffuser that can compare with the performance of the Dryden Aqua diffuser.

The diffusers are of semi-flexible construction 32mm in diameter and of variable length up to 3m, depending on the air, oxygen or carbon dioxide through-put required. The diffusers have their own ballast and will stay on the bottom of the aeration tank without the need to add additional ballast or to secure them to the base. This makes them very easy and quick to install. The diffusers are perfect for tanks, plastic lined lagoons or even clay or earth lined lagoons.
