Fish farming equipment manufacturer Fusion Marine has appointed Chris Jones as the company’s new operations manager, in a move to further boost business growth.

Mr Jones is a well-known figure in the Scottish and wider aquaculture industry, and in this newly created role, he will lead the Fusion Marine production team to ensure optimum performance and provide an interface between the manufacturing side of the business and the end customer. His comprehensive engineering and technical ability will also aid the company’s new product development programme, which is focusing on the progression of offshore technology and the development of a range of innovative aquaculture equipment.

Mr Jones founded Norfab Products Ltd in 1985 and has worked in the USA, Latin America, Canada, Australia, throughout Europe and in East Africa. He later moved into the marine by-products sector, co-founding Scanbio Scotland Ltd with Norwegian partners in 1997. Over the years, he has been a significant contributor to the development of the Scottish salmon industry.

Mr Jones said: “I’m excited about the opportunity Fusion Marine has given me to continue to innovate and put my many years of commercial and practical experience to good use. As operations manager, my job is to lead our hard-working production squad to improve, both individually and as a team, so that Fusion Marine continues to grow and cements its position as a world class fish pen and support equipment manufacturer.”
