SSA calls for Indian shrimp to be added to forced/child labour lists

US industry body’s request is based on recent reports exposing labour abuses in the Indian shrimp industry

US industry body, the Southern Shrimp Alliance (SSA) has formally requested the Bureau of International Labor Affairs of the US Department of Labor (ILAB) add Indian shrimp to the 2024 List of Goods Produced by Child Labor or Forced Labor and, separately, to the List of Products Produced by Forced or Indentured Child Labor.
