Australian company, Mori Seafood, has chosen Friend of the Sea to certify the environmental and social sustainability of its seafood products.

Independent and qualified auditors of accredited certification bodies will verify and monitor Mori Seafood’s tuna and lobster, according to Friend of the Sea strict certification requirements.
"It is our aim at Mori Seafood to share with the world the best sustainable seafood from the Southern Ocean,” said Claire Moriarty, marketing manager of the company.
Mori Seafood’s certified products include its Mori Seafood Southern Rock Lobster and Southern Bluefin Tuna (Mori Tuna) which are both distributed throughout north and south-east Asia.
Southern Rock Lobster is also harvested under the Clean Green program, developed to standardise fishing activities for the benefit of the environment, animal welfare and food safety. Southern Bluefin Tuna is heavily regulated by the Commission for the Conservation of Southern Bluefin Tuna.
"Mori Seafood’s sustainability policy is strong as the company sources only from sustainable fisheries,” said Paolo Bray, founder and director of Friend of the Sea. “They are real
friends of the sea and we are glad to be able to highlight and confirm their engagement to marine habitat protection.”
