The European Commission has proposed a revision to strengthen EU regulations against unsustainable fishing practices by non-EU countries

The revision aims to amend Regulation (EU) 1026/2012 to better define the criteria for identifying countries engaging in non-sustainable fishing practices on shared fish stocks.

The proposed changes include clarifying conditions for triggering EU sanctions, such as import bans, against these countries.
