The final programme for the conference has been updated and is available to view online. The conference subject is ''Fish Waste for Profit'' and it has been organised in association with Matis.

There are three sessions:

Session one – Wild demersal species: In cod we trust
An innovative session from the companies who are using this technology today to adapt the manufacturing and processing lines to maximise return by utilising the entire fish, with no wastage.

Session two – Wild pelagic
This session will address how wild pelagic can join the fish waste revolution.

Session three - Cultivated species
This session will finish the one-day conference by looking at cultivated and farmed species and how they can also provide ROI for processors and catchers.

The Speakers include:

Mr Ingolfur Arnason, Chief Executive Officer, Skaginn will be talking about new developments in fish processing that will maximise the use of fish waste per catch. Skaginn provide processing solutions for the food industry and Mr Arnason trained as a mechanical engineer in Iceland and Denmark and is an industry expert for development, design and innovation within the fishing industry.

Mr Ola Flesland is Research and Development Manager for TripleNine Group AS, one of Europe’s major producers of marine ingredients for aquafeed, animal feed and pet food. He will be talking about high quality fish oil and protein products. Ola Flesland holds a PhD in Refrigeration Engineering, within freeze concentration of liquid foods, from the Norwegian Institute of Technology. He has several years of experience with contract research for bio-marine industry. In the period of 2000 to 2008, he had leading positions within the research institutes Norwegian Herring Meal and Oil Research Institute, Fiskeriforskning and Nofima. From 2008 to 2012 Mr Flesland was CEO of Biomega AS a producer of fish protein hydrolysates.
