A new website to support the Centre for Environment, Fisheries and Aquaculture Science’s (Cefas) development was launched last month, as part of the Centre’s strategy to expand into wider marine science and technology markets, in the UK and internationally.

The website aims to showcase Cefas as a global player providing research and advisory services and forms part of an ambitious five year plan to achieve further diversification of income, as core central Government funding reduces.

Steve Addison, Commercial Director said, “Cefas continues to commercialise and we are driving forward ambitious plans to develop business across wider markets, both at home and overseas, in particular in the Middle East and South East Asia.

“Many of our customers and potential customers are not aware of the extent of our global operations. The fact is that our customer base is diverse, as well as UK government, we work with international governments, public and private sector organisations, educational and research institutions, as well as non-governmental organisations.

“The new website will play a part in our plans to strengthen Cefas’ position as a world leader in marine science and technology, sending out a clear message that Cefas means business.”

Cefas works with industries across a range of sectors, including aquaculture, fisheries, higher education, international government capability, offshore renewable energy, oil and gas and shipping.
