The ship’s charter will start on 1 August 2016 for the 2016/2017 and 2017/2018 fishing campaigns.

Jean-Pierre Kinoo, general manager of Cap Bourbon says, “We launched the construction of a new and innovative longliner, which will be delivered at the end of 2015, rendering our current longliner Cap Horn 1 availablein the course of the year 2016. This transaction allows us to provide a solution and a favourable future for this ship to which we are very much attached.”

Adrien de Chomereau, CEO of Sapmer says that his company is very pleased with the agreement. Sapmer operates four longliners, but one of them Croix du Sud needs to be replaced.

“Chartering Cap Horn 1 allows us to have next year a younger vessel, sister-ship of our three other longliners already in operation, making our longliner fleet perfectly alike”, he said.
