David Campbell

David Campbell is Commercial Director of Albatern, the Scottish wave energy generator designer and supplier focusing initially on fish farming and other off-grid markets.

Within Albatern, he leads commercial development – establishing customer connections in the UK aquaculture sector, where he negotiated the first Power Purchase Agreement for wave energy with a leading Scottish salmon farming company.

He is also actively exploring trends and identifying partners in China, Japan, Singapore, Philippines and Indonesia to take the early steps in commercialising wave energy generators now being demonstrated in Scottish waters. He sees it as very important to understand what is driving the movement of fish farming companies into stronger wave climates and to understand their timescales.

The move offshore in aquaculture is an emerging trend, and David continues to maintain connection with a number of key overseas markets, particularly in Asia, where wave energy can be applied to offshore fish farming and develop a significant niche market globally.
