ThermoDrive technology is a patented conveying solution that combines the benefits of positive drive, low-tension belting with a continuous, easy-to-clean surface, developed by Intralox.

ThermoDrive comprises low-tension belting with a continuous, easy-to-clean surface.

According to Intralox, a global provider of conveyance solutions, this match is ideal for hygiene-sensitive applications in food processing as it dramatically improves food safety and lowers operating costs through substantially reduced usage of water, chemicals, and cleaning labour and time.

It said the ThermoDrive technology offers: reliable sanitation results with less skill and effortdue to a continuous belt surface; and consistently low swab counts and reduced risk of allergen cross-contamination as the non-porous, homogenous, thermoplastic belt material discourages bacteria.

Most recently, Intralox has released ThermoLace plastic hinge lacing – an alternative joining method for its ThermoDrive 8050 belting.

Intralox said this method is particularly advantageous for customers who need to quickly join belt ends as it: (1) simplifies installation and replacement of ThermoDrive belting; (2) eases service on difficult to access conveyors; (3) allows customer to easily remove and replace the belt if required for sanitation; and (4) can be added to existing belts to enable easier repair.

“With this most recent addition, customers now have multiple delivery options for ThermoDrive belting, including ThermoLace plastic hinge lace spliced to belt ends, belt ends already spliced together (endless belt), and belt ends squared and ready to be spliced,” Intralox told WF.
