Euronete factory
Euronete, based in Oporto, and making heavy nets for bottom trawls and pelagic fishing, report they have opened a new braiding factory in the north of Portugal.
It said the facility can manufacture 3,000 tonnes of braids per annum and employs 150 workers.
Euronete says their polyethylene-based Premium and Premium “Plus” netting, are doing very well on mid-water trawls, because of their high abrasion-resistance and shock absorption, with sales to American, Russian and Icelandic vessels.
It says it has also been selling net twines such as Super 12, Tiptolon braided and twisted, Premium and PE/PA, for hand-made meshes for pelagic fishing, to the Faroes, Island, Norway, Holland, Ireland, Iceland, US and Russia.
