Scotland-based aquaculture technology company Ace Aquatec has secured a major deal in Japan, deploying its bespoke humane trout stunning system with leading producer FRD Japan.
Ace Aquatec has collaborated with FRD Japan to introduce its A-HSU stunning system into the Japanese aquaculture market. The solution integrates into FRD Japan’s land-based recirculating aquaculture system (RAS), with the 16-inch system capable of processing up to 30 tonnes of steelhead trout per hour while recycling water back into the facility.
Designed as a bridge between growing and processing facilities, it uses advanced pumping technology to optimise transfer processes, using pumping technology supplied by MMC First Process.
“This collaboration with FRD Japan is a significant development for Ace Aquatec and highlights our commitment to delivering solutions that are tailored to our client and meet the highest standards of innovation and efficiency,” Ace Aquatec CSMO Tara McGregor-Woodhams said.“Developing a device that balances biosecurity and operational efficiency with the highest welfare standards has been a rewarding challenge, and we’re excited to see our technology making a positive impact in aquaculture in Asia and around the world.”
The system will be fully operational in 2027.
Ace Aquatec’s A-HSU is available for all commercial fish species including trout, salmon, tilapia, prawns, bass and bream.
