Skaginn of Iceland has developed a new compact IQF freezer, which the company says takes up less space than traditional IQF freezers.

According to Skaginn the freezer may be installed as part of fish processing equipment both on board and on shore.

It uses the Multi-Belt Transport System and High-Level Heat Conduction Belt.

The Belt Transport system is based on a multi-level infeed section leading to two or more form-freezing lines. The sequence controlled in feed system incorporates a design which, according to

Skaginn, reduces the size of the freezer by using a single in-feed belt to feed two or more separate form-freezing belts, making it possible to place a high capacity freezer where space is limited.

Skaginn claim that the freezer is a combination of contact and blast freezer resulting in higher yields and capacity and improved product quality.
