Thai Union Group has appointed a new general manager of its Indian Ocean Tuna factory in the Seychelles.
Jamikara Techasaratoole takes over from Ricardo Luzio who is moving to the role of fish procurement director for Europe after heading up the IOT factory since 2020.

Techasaratoole joined IOT in 2019 and progressed to assistant general manager within three years, working closely with Luzio. “IOT is a key manufacturing plant within Thai Union, supplying our European customers with competitive and high-quality tuna products,” she said.
“Operating from the island nation Seychelles, our challenges are many, but together with my leadership team and our talented and experienced employees, we will continue to create a positive social impact for our employees and their families here in Seychelles.”
Outgoing general manager Luzio has been with Thai Union for 31 years and was plant manager at the group’s European Seafood Investments Portugal plant before taking over the role of general manager at IOT.
“Jamikara is the right person at the right time to lead IOT into the future,” Luzio said, adding the factory faces challenges of uncertain conditions, high inflation and low consumer demand across Europe.
