Crabsticks tempt Starfrost into Russia

This adds to its network of sales offices and agents in South America, Norway, Poland, Italy and the Middle East. Recent sales in Russia include equipment for Rok 1 in St. Petersburg to freeze up to 3,000 kg/hr of crabstick products and gear to Seafood Castle in Moscow for up to 2,000 kg/h of crabstick. Salmon Co. has bought equipment for plants in Moscow and Kaliningrad for freezing shell-on shrimps and glazing and refreezing prawns.

Starfrost Director Dave Pearson says: “The frozen food market in Russia has changed dramatically over the past decade. We believe there is tremendous potential to work with Russian food manufacturers to meet the growing demand for value added frozen produce and convenience foods. We aim to build on our past success to become the first choice freezing equipment supplier in Russia.”

Starfrost says that over the past 20 years the company has supplied preassembled freezers and chillers to small and medium scale food processors, as well as large capacity site-built systems for major manufacturers.
