Don’t miss the Offshore Fish Farm visit
Continue to network and learn the latest industry practices by attending the offshore fish farm visit, taking place at the Piscicoltura del Golfo di Gaeta (P2G) fish farm, which follows the Offshore Mariculture Conference on April 11.
Delegates will have the opportunity to participate in a visit to an offshore fish farm following a two day technical conference at the Plaza Caserta, Naples on 11 April 2014.
The Piscicoltura del Golfo di Gaeta (P2G) fish farm is located within the Gulf of Gaeta and consists of 72 floating cages, including 10 cages of 28m diameter, 34 cages of 22m diameter and 28 cages of 16m diameter.
The annual output is approximately 1,980 tons, including a guaranteed 165 tons of sea bass and sea bream per month. Fishing typically takes place three days a week providing customers with high quality, fresh product. Product is also distributed to larger supermarket chains organised via annual supply contracts.
The fish farm opened in August 2011 and employs a maintenance staff of 30, 14 of which work exclusively on packing the product.
