Andrew Gillespie-McLean will point the way to humane culling in opening session.

Ace Aquatec positions itself as a technology company using science and innovation to drive welfare-focused aquaculture practices, and its Technical Sales Manager Andrew Gillespie-McLean will make that case in the first Session of the 100% Fish for Profit Conference at IceFish next month.

Under the heading Enabling Technologies For Full Utilisation, Gillespie-McLean will focus on Ace Aquatic’s ability to humanely, safely and efficiently cull underperforming juvenile fish without using chemicals.

Among its many products, the Dundee-based company is known for its award-winning A-HSU® (Humane Stunner Universal) system, and the A-HCS® (Humane Cull System) based on the same in-water stunning technology.

Ace Aquatec has grown from a family-run business of two into a global supplier of welfare-first aquaculture solutions, with a 40-strong team now working from offices in Scotland, Norway, Canada and Chile.

In his current role at Ace Aquatic, Gillespie-McLean oversees commercial operations across multiple EMEA territories. In the opening 100% Fish for Profit session he will be joined by Runar Gjerp Solstad, Senior Scientist in Marine Biology at Nofima, Baader’s Global Sales Director Fish Nils Rabe, and Michelea Lindström, CEO and Founding Partner at Hailia Nordic Oy.
