Valka will demonstrate, at Seafood Processing Europe in Brussels, a brand new robotic solution – the RobotFeeder – to feed fish products automatically to processing lines, including IQF freezers and portioning machines.

The fully functional prototype which will be demonstrated at Brussels is the result of a joint research project between HB Grandi and Valka ehf. The project is financially supported by the AVS R&D fund of the Ministry of Fisheries in Iceland.
HB Grandi and Valka are currently exploring several alternatives to utilise this new technology in their production plants so installation into a production line is expected in the near future at HB Grandi.
Valka has strengthened its relationship with two key agents, First process AS in Norway and P/F Mest in the Faroe Islands. Valka will thus have a joint booth at Brussels with these two companies.
A brand new product – the Saltfish AutoFeeder – an automatic tub feeding system for salt fish production – will be premiered at the stand. The first prototype will be installed in Vaðhorn - a leading salt fish processing plant in the Faroe Island in the beginning of April.
Valka has also been extending the international sales network and has recently added Guirafa Packaging as an agent in Spain and Portugal.
Valka will be demonstrating the RobotFeeder and the Saltfish AutoFeeder at booth 4-6027 at Seafood Processing Europe, which takes place 28-30 April, as well as presenting other products for the fish industry.
