Sigurður Trausti Karvelsson, project manager and scientist at First Water in Iceland, will be speaking at the new Aquaculture - Driving Sustainable Growth Conference.

Sigurður Trausti Karvelsson, project manager and scientist at First Water in Iceland, will be speaking at the new Aquaculture - Driving Sustainable Growth Conference, taking place on Tuesday 22 September. The conference is co-located with the IceFish exhibition. 

Sigurður will join fellow expert speakers in the “Production, feeds and recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS)” session.   

At First Water Sigurður works on R&D, process monitoring, data analytics, and circular-economy solutions for land-based salmon farming. He holds a PhD in Biomedical Science and has experience leading multidisciplinary projects, including EU-funded initiatives focused on sludge valorisation, biogas research, and sustainable aquaculture.  

Sigurður ‘s work combines scientific research, operational problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making to support innovation in aquaculture and environmental technology.
