Focus on Emerging Technology

The first session of the new Aquaculture conference, being held on 22 September at the IceFish exhibition, will examine a range of technologies that will assist the sector, both now and in the future. 

In addition to a valuable contribution from Baader’s Global Sales Director, Nils Rabe on how next‑generation processing systems are reshaping seafood production, there will be presentations from Paw Peterson, CEO, Oxyguard, Eirik Lillebudal, CEO, EquaFish, Bogdan Vornicu, Head Biologist, Avascope and George D Mantas, Business Development Director, AquaBioTech Group. 

Paw Peterson will explore how connected monitoring, control systems, and AI are transforming aquaculture operations—turning real‑time data into better feeding, oxygen control, energy efficiency, and more stable production across sites. 

Eirik Lillebudal, CEO, EquaFish, will be making sense of the data fish farmers already have in a presentation entitled “Beyond more sensors.” 

In “Turning Environmental Signals into Biological Risk Decisions” Head Biologist at Avascope, Bogdan Vornicu will outline how Avascope helps farms manage biological risks—integrating environmental and biological data to improve gill health, reduce mortality, and guide safer, more confident operational decisions. 

Finally, George D Mantas, Business Development Director at AquaBioTech Group will consider the development of an AI-based tool for the early detection of environmental stress and presence of Vibrio anguillarum in farmed European seabass Dicentrarchus labrax.
