Christian comes from Germany where he received his master’s degree in fisheries science from the Humboldt University in Berlin in 1996. In 2004 he obtained his Ph.D. in fish nutrition from Hohenheim University, Stuttgart. During his Ph. D. studies, he spent two years as a visiting scientist at the Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Centre – Aquaculture Department in the Philippines. He subsequently worked as a product manager for an Austrian company between 2003 and 2007. During that period he was giving technical support on the use of acidifiers in pig, poultry and fish. From 2007 onwards till 2014 he was a R&D Manager at ADDCONs European offices in Norway and Germany, responsible, next to others, for product development on dietary acidifiers for fish and shrimp. Since January 2015 he is ADDCON’s Technical Director for the business unit “Feed”. Christian is the sole editor of the books “Acidifiers in Animal Nutrition” and “Standards for acids – Principles for the use of organic acids in animal nutrition” and has published numerous articles in that field, including book chapter and review papers on the use of organic acids in aquaculture.
