A new compact UV LED steriliser will be amongst technology solutions showcased by Yanmar at Aqua Nor this month.

The steriliser, designed to treat and purify water onboard fishing vessels, will be displayed, alongside Yanmar’s new innovations in aquaculture, for example in net cleaning.
The Remote Net Cleaner, developed by YANMAR and the Norwegian service agent Østerbø, features soft rubber belts designed to protect fish farming nets from damage and ensure safe and efficient cleaning.
The submergible cleaner covers a wide range at fast speeds in a short period of time and guarantees cleaning also in strong currents. Only one person is needed to clean the net from the vessel without having to go into the water.
Engine range
Yanmar’s range of commercial marine diesel engines, varying in power from 9 to 4,500kW, will also be displayed at the show in Norway, from 20-23 August.
On show is the 6CXBM super-light-duty, mechanical engine representing YANMAR’s higher-rated commercial high-speed propulsion units. This six-cylinder engine offers direct injection and heat exchanger cooling.
Its design with four valves per cylinder and turbocharger/intercooler ensures a higher combustion efficiency. The CXB-series complies with IMO Tier II emission regulations. 6CXBM is available in output values from 265kW to 294kW.
The Dtorque turbo diesel outboard engine’s 804ccm twin-cylinder aluminium powerhead delivers 50hp at the propeller shaft and offers class-leading fuel economy and exhaust emissions that fall well within the latest EU RCD 2 limits. It has a torque output, peaking at 111 Nm at 2,500rpm.
The in-line turbocharged and charge air-cooled 6AYEM CR (Common Rail) diesel engine is designed for powerful but economic operation, reliability, low emissions, low noise and low smoke.
Available in ratings from 485kW continuous to a maximum of 749kW at 1,840 to 2,000rpm, the engine is compliant with all certified emission regulations for Norway and entire European market, including IMO Tier II and CCNR-2.
